Story

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

This June 10th, I will betaking part in Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland's annual Ultimate Abseil. This is a 165ft SAS style (free-fall) drop off the Forth Bridge, and quite unlike anything I've done before...

Of course, CHSS do loads of amazing work, but this is a particularly poignant challenge for me, because in 2005 I had emergency open heart surgery in Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary. I was only a few days past my 24th birthday, but there is no question that my life was saved by the kind of research, training and technology that CHSS help fund. To this day, I still enjoy the benefits of first class cardio care in Scotland, partly because generous people like you have supported this brilliant charity in the past.

So, whether you're glad I'm alive (or even if you're glad I'm about to go jump off a bridge), please donate whatever you can afford to celebrate!

And remember, if you're a UK taxpayer please check the "gift aid" box. It costs you nothing but means the government will donate an extra 25% of whatever is raised. Hooray!
