Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is not a sob story, this is a real story. I am running for my dad Trevor and sister Claire. We lost my dad to duodenal cancer in 2010, one year later my sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Claire fought long and hard for 18 months but sadly it was in vain, aged 34 she lost her life tragically and despicably in July 2013. Mum and I will never recover from our loss or the suffering dad and Claire endured in such close and unfortunate succession. But, we live and fight on and remain grateful for all we have. The local hospice Claire died at was incredible. From the toast, to the made up beds to the rose bushes, it made the worst time of our lives that little bit easier. The kindness, the safety, the warmth.
Everyone thinks I am mad for running the marathon, managing a busy job with 2 very young children. I don't think I'm mad. It's about being inspired. Being active. And remembering those we have loved so dearly and lost.
