I have created this page to raise as much money as I can for The Christie. There are many reasons why I have chosen to run for The Christie:

Firstly,  my auntie Hen died at The Christie hospital after being diagnosed with terminal cancer just weeks earlier. Hen having cancer came as a huge shock to her and all the family, she hadn't been ill and became poorly very quickly. The news was very hard for all of us to deal with, but in the short time she was at The Christie the doctors and nurses gave her amazing care. They made her as comfortable as possible and treated her with so much dignity and respect. The staff were also incredibly sensitive and supportive during this very difficult time for my family and I. I really cannot thank them enough. 

Secondly, my uncle Neil was diagnosed with terminal cancer in October 2016. The consultants at The Christie are doing all that they can to prolong his life, they are giving him chemotherapy and have enrolled him on an immunotherapy drugs trial. These combined treatments are having a positive effect and they have shrunk his tumours. The doctors are also doing all they can to give him the best quality of life possible. 

To have two people that I love very much suffer with such a horrible disease is heartbreaking and the very least I can do is raise money to thank The Christie Hospital for everything they have done and are continuing to do for my family. If the money I raise can help ensure that even just one person receives the care Hen and Neil have had then I'll be so pleased. 

I'll be running lots of different events over the coming year starting with the Manchester Marathon on Sunday 2nd April 2017. Any money you can donate will be greatly appreciated xxx
