Story
Hi all
This year I am taking part in the London Marathon on 25th April! As a warm up to this I am running the Fleet ½ marathon on the 21st March. Why am I doing this? The reason is this; Saturday 13th December 2008 I lost my dad; my best friend, Don Christie to an aggressive brain tumour. Fortunately for my dad it all happened very quickly and he was at peace within a week, the consequence of this for my family was that our lives fell apart.
Running is something that my dad and I did together, I am not sure why, but it helps me to cope with not having him around anymore and makes things feel a bit better.
Macmillan never actually had to help my dad but they do tremendous good and should he have lived for longer they would have been a major part of our lives.
My mum Elaine and my brother Iain and I think it is a very worthwhile cause to raise money for so any donations that you wish to make would be greatly received at my just giving page - http://www.justgiving.com/Laura-Christie
