Different challanges to support steel bones 

my first challange to support steel bones my challange is 1 thousand miles in 200 days by doing 5 miles every day by doing all different things walking , running , and cycling the challange starts on the 30th of July 2018 - 15th of February 2019 

I completed my 1 thousand miles in 200  days for steel bones on the 15th of February 2019 and I raised 80 pound  from this challange this challange started back on the 30th of July 2018 thank you for everyone’s support 

I have set myself another challange this is my second challange  for steel bones it will start 1st of August 2020 my challange is to do 5 thousand miles in 500 days I will be doing 10 miles everyday I will be mixing it up with walking running and cycling the challange will finish 14th of December 2021 

I completed my second challange to support steel bones on the 14th of December 2021 5 thousand miles in 500 days I did 10 miles everyday I did mostly walking on this challange this challange started back on the 1st August 2020 this challange was amazing we raised 25 pound from this challange  I have also set myself a bigger challange in 2022 to keep supporting steel bones thank you for everyone’s support 

On the 26th of of October 2022 I will start my 3rd challange to support steel bones my challange is 15 thousand miles in 1 thousand days I will be doing 15 miles everyday I will be mixing it up with walking running and cycling I would like to achieve to go past the target 15 thousand miles this challange will start 26th of October 2022 and will finish 22nd of July 2025  i am really looking forward to this challange can’t wait 

I’m not a amputee my self I have a visual impairment and autism steel bones support amputees and their families steel bones support changes so many lives for amputees and their families without the support of steel bones people will feel isolated at home just talking to someone will help to have confidence and to try new things 


My name is Laura Cartmill I am 33 
years old I have a visual impairment   I was born with an eye condition called aniridia I have no iris in either eye this is the coloured part of your eye this makes my eyes very sensitive to any lights bright days and cloudy days and can develop other eye conditions and I have autisim 


10 years ago , I jgot involved in disability football it is for people with varied disabilities. Since joining  my confidence has been built tremendously . Before joining football, I didn’t talk to anybody; now, I have more confidence and to socialise with others and I even helped with my football coach to coach the team (we were branded the ‘Dream Team’).

I started disability football back in 2012 I  it is  for people with all different disabilities on a Saturday morning I am involved with Newton abbot soccaability it is for everyone with all different disabilities to have fun and a fantastic way to make friends and to socialise with others 

and we have tournaments on a Sunday to play against other teams with all different disabilities at the touranment  I  play for Tavistock specials ladies we are involved in the Devon ability counts league it is for all different disabilities we play against different teams have fun and a fantastic way to socialise with others this season 2021 I have been coaching with the tavistock specials league 2 team we are involved in the Devon ability counts league we play against different teams we have fun and a fantastic way to socialise with others  I have been involved in disability football for 10 years since being involved in disability football my confidence has been built tremendously before I was involved in disability football I didn’t talk to anyone I now have a lot more confidence and to socialise with others these 2 clubs have been very supportive they organise me a bright ball for each session which is easier for me as I have a visual impairment 

In 2022 I am playing with Tavistock specials ladies and coaching them in the Devon ability counts league it is for everyone with all different disabilities and I also help out in another fun football session on a Wednesday evening helping people with all different disabilities I have been involved in disability football for 10 years absolutely love it 

I completed my football coaching level 1 in November 2022  

I am fundraising for steel bones  and hopefully to help other people to have that confindence too they can do anything they want to achieve anything is possible 😊💟
