Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most of you that know me will know that in January 2011, I lost my Mum, Jackie, to Motor Neurone Disease.
Mum lived life to the absolute full and the diagnosis came as a shock to all that knew her.
We had seven months with Mum from her diagnosis to her death, there was no medication that could help Mum and just after diagnosis she lost her speech completely. Not long after this Mum struggled walking and eating, the worst thing about Motor Neurone Disease is that the families can do absolutely nothing but watch in horror as they lose the most precious and special people in their lives.
My partner, Jools, ran the Bristol Half Marathon in memory of Mum in 2011 and is now planning to shave his head. We hope to raise as much money as possible which will then be used to research Motor Neurone Disease. The hope is that one day, in the near future, a cure will be found and that eventually no one will lose these special people in such a heart breaking way.
Please give anything you can spare, and never forget to 'smile and show your teeth'- life really is too short.
