Ironman UK 2014 · 20 July 2014 ·
On 20 July 2014, I will be Racing for Reuben in the IronMan UK Triathlon in Bolton. I have to do:
The day before, 8 special little children (2 remotely) will be competing in IronKids, being the YOUNGEST competitors in a 500m running race. Those athletes are James Gregson, Ava Anderton Phelps, Gethin Merridew-Clarke, Thomas Smithies, Ava Lafferty and Isabelle Sweeney-Hough with Mila Speakman and Aiden Taylor competing from afar, They are all supported by their IronLady Mummies: Victoria, Kate, Jane, Sam, Steph, Sarah and Jenny.
Our goal is to cross the finish lines having raised a lot of money for Reuben's Retreat, a charity founded in August 2012 in memory of Reuben Graham who sadly passed away aged 23 months after a short battle with a rare aggressive brain tumour.
Reuben's Retreat will be a countryside retreat in the North West of England where families who have a child suffering with a life limiting or life threatening illness can take respite breaks. Reuben's Retreat will bea home from home, a place to "Relax, Recharge, Remember and Rebuild". It will also serve as a bereavement counselling and support centre for families who have suffered the loss of a child.
This is an absolutely wonderful and inspiring charity - helping families through their darkest days. It really touches the hearts of anyone with little boys or girls in their families and friendship circles.
Please donate as little or as much as you can and, just as important, please please share when you've donated! Encourage friends, colleagues, family to take part and donate £2, or £5, or £10. Together - we really can achieve greatness...
If you're donating on behalf of one of the IronKids please write it in the message so we can show them xxx
On behalf of Reuben's Retreat, thank you ever so much.
