Story

Assalamu’alaikum Warahamtullahi Wabarakatuh

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون

“Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return”

It is with a heavy heart we share that our beloved grandad, Haji Mohammed Madaris Ali (Mashtor Saab) of Northampton, has returned to his creator on the 10th Ramadan 1444 AH, Saturday 1st April 2023.

With this page, we intend to raise money to donate as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of our dear Grandad.

Our Prophet Muhammad () said: “When a person dies, all their deeds end except for three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.”

Sadaqah Jariyah is a one of a kind, lasting charity which accrues ongoing reward from Allah (SWT) throughout our lives and into the hereafter. Whether this charity is distributed during one’s living years or on behalf of a deceased loved one, it one of the most rewarding acts.

We have chosen to provide water as Sadaqah Jariyah by building water pumps in Bangladesh. Sa’d Ibn ‘Ubadah reported that the Prophet Muhammad () once said, “The best charity is giving water to drink.”

Our beloved grandad was well known within, and far beyond, Northamptonshire serving the Bengali community for over 50 years. He was a firm believer of the people, an aspirational man who did not stop helping others achieve their dreams whilst setting aside his own. He was hard-working, selfless and an incredibly patient individual who truly had a heart of gold. He was an inspiration to us all. It is said that Allah hand picks those who pass away during the blessed month of Ramadan; Alhamdullilah our grandad was able to experience this.

As a trustee of our local masjid, Al Jamatul Muslimin of Bangladesh, our grandad worked tirelessly to achieve his goal and we know for a fact he would be immensely proud to see how far the masjid has come to today. The masjid was by far his biggest contribution to his local community and as his granddaughters, we aspire to give back to communities just as he did. Hence, we wish to raise money to install water pumps in Bangladesh. Everyday, thousands of people suffer from diseases and contamination in their water, endangering their livelihood. To prevent this, we are aiming to install water pumps across rural villages that are in dire need of fresh, clean water as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah for our grandfather.

"The charity you give will be your shade on the Day of Judgement." Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]

Your donation will not only assist us in transforming the lives of numerous individuals, but it will also serve as a magnificent act of Sadaqah Jariyah, benefiting communities for several years to come via your water pump contribution. In turn, we hope that our beloved grandfather will continue to reap the rewards of every drop of water in the Hereafter, In Sha Allah.

Please donate however big or small or likewise please share with family and friends. May Allah accept your contribution and reward you immensely.

May Allah accept whatever amount raised as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah for our beloved grandad, Haji Mohammed Madaris Ali, and allow him to reach Jannah-tul-Firdous, Ameen.

JazakhAllah Khairun for taking the time to read our page.
