Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am training for my first marathon in my home town of Riga, in Latvia. This training requires me to steadily push myself further and further as I work towards the biggest run of my life. This is my personal challenge, but there is someone else with a bigger challenge than me. Someone who shares this challenge with thousands of others for whom it isn't a choice.

My father-in-law has Parkinson's disease. It's a cruel disease which slowly strips away all that a person once was. There is currently no cure and it affects everyone around that person too. I am running to raise money to help those who struggle, but also to work towards funding a cure. Please support me, and my father-in-law Nick as I run for me and for him.

Thanks for visiting my page, Lasma

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
