Story
People often ask us if the Rescued Angels receive medical care whilst in Romania - this is Pitty's story.
Pitty was found in a town called Constanta in Romania by our Rescuer Liliana. Unbelievably, this tiny scrap of a creature had managed to survive a life on the streets - but this 'survival' had come at a price.
Weighing in at a meager 4kg when Pitty was rescued she was discovered to have heart worms infesting her tiny body, she had both anaplasma and ehrlichia - diseases caused by tick bites, she had babeosis, imminent renal failure and, on top of all these things, the tiny mite was pregnant.
The vet was not optimistic, they did not think Pitty would survive, and for 15 long, heart wrenching days she would not eat as she laid at the vets on drips full of medication to save her life, but then a miracle happened, she started to eat and gradually recover, and against all the odds, this little scrapper has pulled through - now heavily pregnant.
of course nothing in life comes for free, and even though medical bills are substantially lower in Romania - the vet bills, including her long stay at the practice have come in at nearly £1000.
This emergency fundraiser is to help support the rescuer Liliana, as not only is Pitty still in Romania she cannot travel until the puppies are born, and must stay in private foster. We may not reach £1000, she is the smallest of things, and this is a huge amount - but Pitty and Liliana need our help desperately. With your help we can continue to support Pity, and then her puppies and get them safely to the UK for rehoming.
