Story
Lots of you will know I love walking, staying up late, cultural things and having adventures in London. So it should come as no surprise that in September I’m doing a Culture Crawl walking 15 miles through London to raise money for Maggie’s, a charity that offers support and advice to cancer patients and their families. I will be winding my way through London throughout the night visiting the London Eye, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Royal Geographic Society in West Kensington and ending at the top of the Gherkin at dawn.
Maggie’s does amazing work providing free emotional, practical and social support to cancer patients, their family and friends. I particularly love the fact that Maggie’s recognise how the design of spaces can influence the way you feel and think. Maggie’s centres are beautifully designed to create an empowering environment for anyone and everyone affected by cancer.
Evidence shows that a combination of exercise, environment and creative expression can strengthen physical and emotional wellbeing for people affected by cancer. The culture crawl has been inspired by this vision and the social support that is present in Maggie’s centres every day.
I’m raising money for Maggie’s so they can make more wonderful spaces available to the thousands of cancer patients that need it. Anything you donate will be hugely appreciated.
