Story

It’s almost 3 years since we received our SiMBA box. A box I knew of from working as a Paediatrician, and one I never believed I would be on the receiving end of.
SiMBA is facing closure due to pressures resulting from Covid. At a time when other organisations were not able to see us, they did.

I saw them too. Their presence was noted in the SiMBA rooms of my maternity unit where I sat receiving various pieces of news throughout my 1st and 2nd trimester. Their brightness and artwork was a comfort and welcome change from the beige walls of the NHS.

The SiMBA box is all we have to house our few items belonging to A. Please allow other families to receive this wonderful gift, and so much more 💙

Please keep us company whilst we take on 2 half marathons in 2023 and donate if you can, to save SiMBA.

From SiMBA:

Since 2005, SiMBA have gifted over £50,000 beautiful, meticulously made Memory Boxes to maternity and gynaecology wards, neonatal units, hospices and individuals across the UK and Ireland. With requests for Memory Boxes growing by 83% since 2019, SiMBA have had more families reach out to them than ever before to create timeless and precious memories with their babies.Sadly, in the last three years, the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis has left a huge gap in their funds. To put it simply, funds are no longer aligning with the growing service needs of SiMBA. So, I am asking for your help. With no regular Government funding, SiMBA rely on the kindness and generosity of our incredible supporters to fund our vital work. They will do everything they can to provide Memory Boxes, but they cant do it alone. To be able to support bereaved families, SiMBA are aiming to raise £220,000. Every donation will help, large or small, it truly will make a huge difference to helping so many.
