Footsteps for Footprints Tokyo Lady Bay Challenge · 16 March 2021

The pandemic has affected our charity and the families who rely on us very badly. We have had to close our doors for the best part of a year now and fundraising events have been cancelled. We are relying on the kindness of our supporters to help us.

Story

Pupils and staff at Lady Bay Primary School are challenged to collectively "travel" 5885 miles from Nottingham to the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo. From Friday 2nd April to Friday 7th May 2021 we will "travel" by walking, running, scooting or cycling. Other forms of exercise can be converted into miles using the conversion table sent out by school. Pupils are encouraged to set targets, collect sponsorships and then ask their parents to donate the money they have raised direct to Footprints via this just giving page. Please also email your mileage progress to Footprints@ladybay.notts.sch.uk - at the end of the Easter holidays, the end of April and then finally at the end of the challenge on 7th May.

Footprints is a local charity that supports a number of families within our school community. During the pandemic they have had to meet the challenge of supporting families virtually, through Zoom sessions and phone calls. But as we all know  virtual is no replacement for real contact. A zoom class doesn't give the physical contact a child needs to progress, and a phone call is no replacement for a hug. Footprints future still remains uncertain unless they continue to secure fundraising. They need to be able to open their doors again to help the families who rely on them. Any help with FundingFootprintsFuture would be amazing and mean they can continue their vital work.
