Story

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR DONATIONS WE HAVE RAISED OVER £500 WITH SOME DONATIONS DIRECTLY TO BANKS

Dear all,

On the 20th of January 2010 I was watching the 10 o'clock news on the BBC and saw the story about a mum giving birth to a new baby boy. Her elder son had died a week earlier in the Haitian earthquake. Her story made me weep and I decided that I would like to do a bit more to help her and others like her. So the idea of Ladies Don't Lunch was born.

On the 12th of February, a month after the earthquake, I am asking all mums, their families and friends to go without lunch. Instead I would like them to donate the money they would have spent to the Disaster Emergency Committee.

You can donate on this page so that we can see how much we have raised. Alternatively you can donate direct to the Disasters Emergency Committee (dec.org.uk) or at any high street bank.

I have asked all my friends that are mums to pass the message along to their friends that are mums, asking them to do the same. If you want to join please tell all your friends about this.

If you want any more information you can email me at ladiesdontlunch@yahoo.co.uk or join the Facebook group (Ladies Don't Lunch) and show your support.

Many thanks for reading this and for your donation.
