In September 2012 Team Hadrian (aka Lynn, Kev, Colin, Mandie, Nick & Helen) will undertake an 84 mile challenge across Hadrian's Wall with the aim of raising money for 3 charities : Cancer Research UK Arthritis Care,  & National Osteoporosis Society.

Lynn & Kev will be raising money for Cancer Reseacrh UK. Why?
Over the past few years our family has been significantly affected by Cancer. Lynn lost both parents to this terrible disease and with such devasting speed. Several friends lives have also been affected (and are being affected) by this dreadful disease.
'My parents both died (albeit nearly 8 years apart) of relatively rare forms of Cancer - Bile Duct Cancer and Secondary Liver Cancer. Both of which presented late and with 'silent' symptoms deeming treatment such as surgery an impossibility.
There needs to be much more research into these types of Cancers as it is often too late to do anything, with symptoms commonly only presenting late on in the disease progression. There also seems to be an increase in the numbers affected by these types of Cancer - nearly everyone you speak to seems to know someone affected by this, yet these Cancers are not often in the public eye and people need to become much more aware'.
