We provide free ‘Homes from Home’ to keep families together

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My niece Naomi was born 10 weeks premature and weighed only 2 pounds. She contracted bronchitis and was admitted to Sheffield hospital in the intensive care unit for babies over last New Year. The Sick Children's Trust provided home from home accommodation in Sheffield hospital (called Treetops) for my sister, her husband and other little girl so that the family could be together and with Naomi whilst she received the vital medical care she required to make her the happy smiley little girl she is today! It was a very difficult time for my family and having the homely accommodation free of charge and for as long as they needed really helped. Naomi sees the paediatrician every 2 months now but is coming along very well and is happy and healthy. As a thank you to the Sick Children's Trust some members of my family (brother in law, mum and stepdad) and I are taking part in the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride (60 miles) on Sunday 4th July 2010 and would like to raise as much money as we can for this worthwhile charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks. Lydia x

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
