The Isle of Skye Munro Challenge, 1 September 2014
We volunteer to save lives

Story

I have climbed four Munros in September to help raise money for the inaugural ‘Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky Munro Challenge’.  All proceeds will go to the Mountain Rescue Scotland Service . At the heart of Scottish Mountain Rescue are volunteer teams, voluntary team leaders and team members who give up their spare time to provide a free service to the members of the public whom request their assistance.  I hope I never need to call them out - but enjoying the great outdoors and mountain treks as I do, it is comforting to know that these volunteers are there to help whenever and wherever they are needed.

My Munros climbed were Ben Vorlich and Stuc a'Chroin at Loch Earn (12th September) and Glas Tulaichean and Carn an Righ from Spittal of Glenshee (27th September).  Wonderful days out in the Scottish mountains though quite a challenge at times.  I will admit that on some of the steeper gradients the thought "Why am I doing this?" entered my mind!

Thank you for visiting my page and for any donations, no matter how small, you feel you can give to this worthwhile charity.
