Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most people know I love running, but it wasnt always that way ( as anyone from my school days will tell you! ) My real inspiration came from Mark Ormrod ( ex- royal marine, now professional fundraiser ) who lost 3 limbs in 2007 whilst serving in Afghanistan at the same time as my husband. I figured if he could learn to walk again, then i could learn to run a half marathon, which i did in 2008.
Since then Mark has gone on to achieve things that you wouldnt imagine possible, like running across America on prosthetic limbs. So i'v upped my game too and have signed up for the Edinburgh marathon.
I have been training really hard ( many thanks to David TWEETY Silvester who wouldnt have it any other way! ).
Apart from running, the other 2 loves in my life are my boys and rugby ( well and shoes.... ) . So it seemed fitting that I would choose to run for a charity which supports both these things.
STUBS is one of the " lesser" known charities which provides practical support for UK armed forces personnel injured whilst on duty, war widows and their dependents. One of the key aspects of their work is providing an executive box at Harlequins for the patients of Headley Court Rehab Centre to use during their rehab. So as you can see it was an ideal choice.
Finally I would like to say a huge thank you to my family Oliver " bet you walk" , George " you cant run a marathon" and Rob " you'll smash it" for their support. Also to my friends who prob cant wait for this to be over so I can start socialising again!
And the biggest thanks to you all for sponsoring me!!
