Story
Help us nurture organicARTS
Nestled in an idyllic rural setting just 3 miles from Exeter, West Town Farm is the beating heart of organicARTS. A charity committed to creating an inclusive space that promotes well-being & healthy living through creative farm-based learning.
A dedicated and passionate team empower the local community to learn about farming, rural & environmental issues, and the arts. They provide bespoke educational visits for schools, community groups, businesses and more.
From educating children about the local environment and where their food comes from, to reducing social isolation and supporting adults who might be vulnerable through mental and physical health challenges. Their immersive experiences and workshops provide an opportunity for people of all ages to connect with nature and explore the wonders of learning with the land.
The charity is run by a passionate and experienced creative team of educators, artists and volunteers who provide the opportunity to explore the farm and much more besides. They work on various creative art projects using materials and inspiration from the farm. Clay, willow, natural dyes, and wood are all part of the toolbox for "The Makers Project" and Artists’ Workshops. Their aim is not just to grow plants, but people too!
They were a natural choice for our charity partner and a fitting tribute to remember the late Andrew Sanders, father of our Associate Director – Phil Sanders.
Andrew Sanders was intrinsic to the Community Garden Project and a dedicated supporter and advocate of the organization. He used his gardening knowledge and tremendous people skills to create a welcoming, non-judgmental space where everyone is valued and listened to.
With LHC Design's support, they are striving towards a 2k donation target which will help fund their immediate needs for new composting toilets to avoid overuse of water and an insulated ceiling to keep their grain barn warm for winter activities.
With your help, these donations can make a real difference. Help us smash our 2k target so we can help fund Organics Art’s mission.
