The Cycling Challenge
19 friends aim to cycle from to starting off on 27 May 2010 and arriving at the Eiffel Tower on 31st May. 205 miles over 5 days. It may not look like the biggest challenge in the world to you cyclists out there but for us; it’s a HUGE challenge. We aim to raise a minimum of £10,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. TO ACHIEVE THIS WE NEED YOUR HELP. Why we got started Lilian Goodfellow was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1998, her daughter Julie Hayward decided to get a group of friends together to raise money for this very worthy cause. 10 years on “The LGGF” have raised £150k this has been achieved by various events including ladies nights, It’s a knockout, three legged pub-crawl, and NOT FORGETTING our very own Pink Ball, held every year in October to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Marie Curie Quote 'They have been fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Care for many years and have raised a fantastic amount of money for Marie Curie Hospice Solihull, totalling in excess of £90,000. The friends of Lilian Goodfellow work extremely hard to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, all whilst having families and working full time. They hold a host of events, including their fabulous annual Pink Ball. The tireless work of these ladies helps us tremendously with our fundraising and enables us to continue our good work' Lynn Wood & Tracey Finnegan Community Fundraising Team. If you want to find out more about the cycle ride or the annual October ball or you can help in anyway please do not hesitate to contact Julie Hayward on 07720 554467.
