My dad and I are taking part in this year's Tough Mudder to raise money for Epilepsy Action.

As our family and close friends may know, my mum has suffered from epilepsy since the early age of 11. It does not only hinder what we can do as a family but also affects my mum's day-to-day living.

Within the UK, roughly 1 in 103 people suffer from epilepsy. 65% of epilepsy cases do not have a known cause and 30% of the people live with uncontrolled seizures that do not respond well to medication, unfortunately, my mum is one of them.
