Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Krysia came into this world on January 26, 2023, a true miracle in every sense. From the very beginning, her journey was marked by challenges. Diagnosed with a condition known as alobar holoprosencephaly during the early stages of my pregnancy, we were faced with a heartbreaking decision. Doctors advised us to consider terminating the pregnancy, but we chose to hold onto hope, believing that Krysia's life could bring light to others through organ donation.

Against all odds, Krysia's condition began to show signs of improvement, defying the initial prognosis. When she finally arrived, she was a picture of perfect health in our eyes. Though she now lives with a milder form of the condition called Syntelencephaly, which impacts her ability to plan activities, Krysia's spirit shines brightly. Despite being profoundly deaf, she received the gift of sound through two hearing implants at Evelina Hospital earlier this year.

At nearly 19 months old, Krysia faces physical challenges that limit her mobility. Yet, her determination to engage with the world around her is unwavering. She delights in simple joys like handling finger foods and sharing smiles and cuddles with those around her. Through dedicated physiotherapy sessions, including the Voyta method and DMI therapy, Krysia has shown remarkable progress in her development.

The cost of these essential therapies amounts to approximately £8000 annually, with the possibility of ongoing expenses over the next few years. We have already exhausted our savings to provide Krysia with osteopathy, private physiotherapy, and swimming sessions. Like her mother, Krysia embodies resilience and strength, facing each day with unwavering determination to be her best self.

Your support would mean everything to us as we strive to give Krysia the care she deserves. Your generosity will help us continue her journey towards a brighter future. Thank you for considering joining us on this path and making a difference in Krysia's life.
