It comes as a complete shock to us all about the unexpected passing of our colleague and friend, Laetitia Brocklebank in December 2020.
Laetitia had worked at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School as a Senior Clinical Lecturer/Honorary Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology (DMFR) for over 20 years and made many great contributions to the radiology specialty and teaching. She was a mentor for numerous staff and students in Glasgow and her passion for the specialty inspired many dentists who she successfully trained to become radiologists. She was past president of the British Society of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology (BSDMFR) and was heavily involved with both the European and International DMFR societies.
Laetitia retired from clinical work in June 2020, but maintained an honorary senior research fellow at the University of Glasgow.
It comes with great sadness the news of her untimely passing and there have been hundreds of messages of condolences sent to both the University and the Dental Hospital from friends of Laetitia from all over the world.
As some of you may be aware, Laetitia was a very keen cyclist having purchased an electric bike a few years ago and had been taking part in multiple long distance challenges with "The Pedalling Profs" from Glasgow and Newcastle Dental School and more recently, fundraising for Retina UK by taking part in their Tandem Cycle Challenge
Due to Coronavirus restrictions, we are unable to pay our full respects to Laetitia in the way that we would ideally like at this time, so please consider a small dontation to a charity that was very close to her heart.
Rest in peace, Laetitia
from all your friends and colleagues at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School.
