Fundraising for Stroke Association
In August 2015 my Gran was admitted to hospital following a stroke. The residual effects of the stroke meant that after a few months of hospital care, she was no longer able to manage at home anymore and moved into a care home. My Gran became unwell at the beginning of January 2016 and sadly passed away.
I have decided to take part in a few events over the year to raise money for the stroke association in memory of my Gran. I am taking part in the Great women's 10k run on the 5th of June and the 1 mile event of the Great Scottish swim in Loch Lomond on the 27th of August.
The stroke association are a charity that funds research, provides support for stroke survivors and their families and also training and education for healthcare professionals enabling them to provide better care for stroke patients.
