Story
A group of us Stourbridge Rugby Club moms have entered to do a 10k Xtreme run on the 1st of October. This idea was born and nurtured over a "couple" of glasses of fizzy stuff and was a great idea at the time. Now approaching very quickly, its a terrifying reality! With obstacles such as Walk the Plank, Swamp of Doom and scarily simply the FIRE, to name but a few of the 60 obstacles in the 10k run!
Our group ranges greatly in fitness levels - from the "Super Fit" to the "Can you please push me around in a wheelbarrow?" and somewhere in between. We have been in training for the last month and our first training session lived up to our twisted name by us being in pursuit of a micro light pilot that had fallen out of the sky!
As well as this being an adventure for us moms and an opportunity to shed a few pounds and get a bit fitter, it also seemed like a perfect way to raise some cash. We want to raise money for Mary Stevens Hospice as this has a personal connection to us at Stourbridge Rugby Club. Very sadly in July this year one of SRFC own players, Rob Eves, lost his battle to cancer and was looked after in his final days by Mary Stevens Hospice. Rob was a massive part of SRFC and played there from the age of 6, which is how our own boys have started. His wife, Gemma, requested that if we were to raise money then it be for Mary Stevens Hospice as it does the most fantastic job of looking after people and their families when they need it the most.
We hope that you are able to donate to this very worthwhile cause and may even treat you with some snap shots of the torture that awaits us!!
Many thanks, The Twisted SRFC Sisters.
