Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 18th May I will volunteer for three months on a development programme in Sierra Leone. This is part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. I’ll be working alongside volunteers from Sierra Leone, on a project that looks to empower youth and imrpove the livelihoods of those in the community. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

I need to raise £1500 for VSO who are one of the respected development charities that deliver ICS. This will allow them to continue to bring about positive change in the developing communities where they work. You can check out their amazing work here http://www.vso.org.uk.

I’m doing a number of fundraising activities which I will update you on through facebook and twitter (@weirnormal) and you can keep track of how I get on here on my Justgiving page.

Any contribution from you will make a real difference to the lives of people in developing countries, and does not pay for any part of my trip - it all goes directly to the charity!

Thanks for your support!

On the 18th May I am going to Sierra Leone for three months and I will be working on a programme designed to encourage youth participation and empowerment, as well as improving livelihoods and strengthening civil society. I will be living with a host family in the city of Makeni and will be working on a project which looks to improve the lives of those less fortunate than myself.

I am raising £1500 which goes directly to VSO and does not pay for any part of my trip.

Any donations are gratefuy received and I'll be posting updates of all my fundraising activities in the near future.

Thanks for your support!
