Story
In a moment of madness last year, I applied for the 2019 London Marathon. I was gutted not to get a ballot place in the London Marathon or a charity place BUT the Alzheimer's Society offered me the opportunity of taking a charity place in the Brighton Marathon this April and after thinking about it for approximately 2 seconds, I signed up!! A marathon's a marathon, right?
The Alzheimer's Society helped so much when my lovely dad, Dennis, was ill with Lewy Body Dementia, from the beginning of his illness, right through to the very end of his life. This is my way of saying 'thank you' to them and helping to raise money to find a cure for this awful illness.
I tried to keep a blog while dad was ill as a way of perhaps helping other people who were trying to deal with a loved one with dementia but sadly I didn't always have the time to blog on a regular basis but this is it, below, if anyone is interested on getting a small insight into dementia and how it can affect lives.

Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society.
