Story

One more sleep until the race. Received my t-shirt from SAMH today which I will wear with pride tomorrow. Have offline donations to pay in which take me over my target! Delighted! Thank you so, so much you thoroughly lovely lot! Xxx

Hey you,

Thank you very much for visiting my JustGiving page.

Two years ago I ran my first 10k having been inspired by Eddie Izzard's amazing marathon effort.  It was a great opportunity to challenge myself and raise money whilst I was doing it.  Thanks to my wonderful friends and family I raised £380, almost double my target, with the money going to Sports Relief and Maggie's Centres.

Last year I ran the Baker Hughes 10k again and was thrilled to beat my previous time.  This year I'm unable to take part in the Baker Hughes, so instead I will be running in a different race.

On Saturday 28th April I will be joining the runners in the Balmoral 10k.  A bigger challenge and a great opportunity to raise money for another charity.

The Scottish Association for Mental Health are Scotland's leading mental health charity providing community based services, national programmes, policy & campaign work and fundraising to ensure people with mental health problems across Scotland are supported.

One in four of us are likely to experience some form of mental health problem at least once in our lifetime.  Yet with a quarter of society affected it still remains a taboo subject.  Our mental health is just as important as our physical health and shouldn't be something we are afraid or ashamed to discuss.  I know over the last couple of years I have realised how important my mental well-being is, and that of my friends and family, and this is why I have chosen to raise money for SAMH.

So thank you so much for taking the time to donate your hard earned cash.  It means a lot to me, to SAMH and even more so to the people you are helping.

Lots of love,

Kim xx
