400 miles in 40 weeks (or less) doesn’t sound too difficult does it? After all it’s only 10 miles a week, but it’s 10 miles every week for 40 weeks!!!
Kim, at 61, is a late starter to running, joining a ladies running club in Jan 2018 to achieve Couch to 5Km (3 miles) in 9 weeks. She found running with a group of like minded ladies inspiring and motivating and continued after the end of the programme. Gradually she increased her weekly distance to a some 7-8 miles each week – usually over 3 runs.
A fair weather runner – she avoids running in the rain or hot weather, which can limit opportunities for winter and summer runs! It would strengthen her resolve and determination if you were able to make a donation to the Avon Riding Centre
She is now 4 weeks into the 400 challenge and is on target (47 miles) with a few miles cushion for injury, illness, poor weather or holiday!
She intends to continue her weekly runs with the JustRunBristol running club, supplemented by a couple of additional local outings each week. She will also run some 10Km (6.2 miles) events over the period – her first one is on Sunday 16th February at Castle Coombe.
