Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My son (aged 10) and I (aged ...much older) have decided to raise money by swimming 22 miles in 22 days (that's the same as a London to Calais swim !!) . The only problem is - we are away for 7 of those days which means the swim has to be done in 15 days !!
The swim will be taking place at Nuffield Health, Chelmsford and this will be our second home for the rest of August! Housing a 20 metre pool it means we have 1,770.28 metres to swim, which, in 15 days, will mean swimming 118 lengths per day.
There are two charities that we are raising money for. The first, displayed on this page, is for Motor Neurone Disease Association
MND is a progressive disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones. This leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing. Cognitive function usually remains so sufferers are fully aware of what is happening to them but there is nothing they can do about it as, currently, there is no cure.
The second will be under a separate page and is for Bloodwise UK.
Any donations to these charities will help contribute towards the cost of providing much needed services and support as well helping to fund critical research required to eliminate such nasty illnesses which no-one should have to endure.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
