Story
Having subscribed to a life of idleness (OK, maybe that is just me rather than Emma), embarking on a 180 mile cycle ride over three days is a huge challenge. Raising money for Bolton Hospice will go some way to making sense of why we decided to do it. The hospice provides care and support for people with life limiting illnesses and also support for their relatives. They rely heavily on charitable donations so any contribution will be greatly received.
The ride we are doing will be the Cheshire cycleway and we will be alongside a team of 17 riders. We will start in Sandbach, Cheshire on Friday 8th July and complete back in Sandbach on Sunday 10th July 2011. The route will take us up into the Peak District near Bollington and then onwards to Northwich and then Chester before dropping down to touch the Welsh border and return back via Whitchurch to Sandbach. The first day of 55 miles includes steep climbs and day 2 is more than 80 miles [more than I have ridden in the past twenty five years] leaving 45 miles for the final day - to be completed on mountain bikes rather than the faster road bikes.
Thanks for your support,
Kim & Emma.
