Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A few of us were talking about organising a ride for a bit of fun and get together out of work and finally got around to doing it! We decided to raise a bit of money for a good cause and agreed on the Rosewood Centre, Dewsbury. It's a palliative day support and therapy unit, used regularly by people with cancer, and they can always use a bit of help funding their resources. Hopefully we can raise a few pounds (and lose a couple in weight) & maybe organise some future group activities for other good charities.
The reason why this is a challenge is that we're all nearly over 40, and we've all been fitter...but Rosewood is an important resource which we want to support.
The Route: we are setting off from Ossett town hall over to the beginning of Route 699 to Dewsbury; down to Saville canal bowl; a short road journey round to Asda Dewsbury where we pick up Route 69 Calder Valley Greenway. We then follow this round to the beginning of Route 66 Spen Valley Greenway which takes us all the way to the Euro industrial estate in Bradford, following the industrial estate round to find the hidden gem (a Greggs) and not a bad half way point! After a quick drink and regroup & opportunity to sort any mechanical problems, we'll then do the lot again in reverse! It's a round trip of 25 miles.
So please help us to help Rosewood by donating what you can. In exchange, we can promise there will be a lot of uncomfortable lairy types on bikes! You can come and cheer us on if you want too - everyone welcome!
