The Christie - Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride · 4 July 2010 ·
Hello I have decided to take part in this years Manchester to Blackpool 60 mile Bike Ride. The Charity I have decided to do this for is the RNIB, this is a charity that means alot to myself and my family as we have a 9 year old daughter, Emily who has been blind since birth. As this charity is so close to my heart, it only makes me more determined to get the ride done. Training is going well although wish i was about 2 stone lighter, but don't we all.
I have targeted £200.00 to raise and I would appreciate every penny, as they say every penny counts. Below is just a list of what your money can do for this wonderful charity;
£8 - helps pay for one2one support and advice from rnib helplines.
£15 - pays for a Tele befriending session for somebody with sight loss who is feeling isolated.
£20 - helps fund practical training and information for people to get the skills and confidence they need to stay at work, because lossing sight shouldn't mean losing you job.
£79 - enables someone to continue reading Talking Books for a year.
£125 - pays for letter, music and novels to be turned into spoken word and braille, so blind/partially sighted people can read their own mail, sing in the choir or curl up with a good book.
£400 - give blind and partially sighted children the chance to make friends, build confidence and have fun on a specially designed, action-packed holiday.
£500 - will sponsor the recording of new Talking Book titles.
