Story
Hi.
I am running the London Marathon this year and whilst I am a regular runner, I have never run a marathon.
I have decided to run on behalf of The Salvation Army to raise valuable funds for the outstanding work they do within our local communities and globally.
Please read on for further information about The Salvation Army but please do also click on 'Donate' and give what you can for this good cause.
Every penny raised will help my motivation in this challenge and I thank you in advance for your generosity.
The Salvation Army provides specialist support to protect and care for all adult survivors of modern slavery in England and Wales through a government contract which was first awarded in 2011 and extended in 2021.Our care of survivors of modern slavery has highlighted the exploitation of both men and women in a variety of ways including forced labour on farms, in factories, on building sites, in car washes, nail bars, and criminal activity such as cannabis farming as well as sexual exploitation and domestic servitude, some suffering domestic abuse. The Salvation Army provides and coordinates Safe Houses, and outreach support for such survivors. Each resident receiving Salvation Army support is respected and valued as an individual and the support they are offered is holistic and tailored to meet individual needs.
