JCP Swansea Half Marathon 2023 · 11 June 2023 ·

Our principle aim is to use the power of sport and the Ospreys brand to empower people within Ospreylia to make positive life choices. Ospreys in the Community will play an important part in improving many people's lives irrespective of age, ability or gender. We aim to improve lives by working in partnership with other organisations to create a wide range of innovative programmes that will be contained within our four Strategic Themes; Education, Health, Sport, and Inclusion. Why the community needs us Whilst sharing a strong relationship and forming a key part of the Ospreys Strategy, Ospreys in the Community operates on an independent basis to the professional rugby organisation. Our foundation utilises the undoubted power of the Ospreys brand and players in a positive fashion, to harness social good and make an impact in communities. Our impact on the community Ospreys in the Community engaged with over 46,000 people in our community last year becoming an established organisation that provides sustainable and enjoyable programmes that have a positive impact on the lives of Ospreylians.'Ospreys in the Community will be working to support Ospreylians so that Ospreylians support us.'

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our page!

We're taking on the challenge of the Swansea Half Marathon to raise money and awareness for Sporting Memories, run by Ospreys in the Community.

They provide amazing support to older people, particularly those with dementia and their carers. Their groups focus on bringing people together to remember past sporting events in all kinds of ways, and to connect with each other. They provide a bright spark In sometimes tough weeks. It's the kind of grassroots, caring, person-focused support that really makes a difference.

We're very grateful for the support Sporting Memories have given to our mum / auntie and dad / uncle. Having played so many amazing matches as St Helens (including beating the Wallabies), dad / uncle Stu enjoys returning to reminisce. His own favourite rugby memories are of playing alongside his amazing older brother, Brian.
