Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you know, last year was probably the worst year of my life when my beautiful dad lost his battle against pancreatic cancer.
It has taken me a while to come to come to terms with the loss, if that is even a possibility, and how to cope with the pain, which I know many of you have suffered too.
Well, one way I cope is to feel that dad is with me and encouraging me to be positive. I have started to put my energy (not that I ever have much of that :-0) into running and am currently doing a couch to 5K organised course.
To my surprise, when on facebook a week or two ago there was an advert for the Lincoln 10K. Can you believe this? It is actually on my dad’s birthday, Sunday 2nd April.
I hhave wondered since then, can I get fit enough? Will I be able to complete it if I enter? And all sorts of other off putting thoughts! But then I just couldn’t stop thinking how poignant it would be to do this on the first birthday anniversary of my pops so have booked myself a place. I am sure now that this is meant to be.
I know the challenge is not going to be easy, just 7 weeks. arrrrrrgh! So if you see me walking around half beaten you know why! No change there then!
Now the bit I don’t like. If any of you would kindly like to sponsor me, I would be forever grateful. No amount is too small for this worthy cause.
You won’t believe the facts and statistics surrounding this awful disease.
