Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you will all know the Northern Ireland hospice is a charity which holds a special place in the hearts of many families. My uncle Kenny was diagnosed with terminal cancer in June 2012 on his 50th birthday. He was diagnosed with secondary cancer in his spine and his primary cancer was in his lungs. After a long and challenging fight he passed away just a few weeks ago on Sunday 6th April 2014 at the age of 51. He went through chemo and radiation treatments and remained so positive and upbeat during these sessions. As time progressed he lost the use of his legs and upper body and in the last 6 months of his life he spent a lot of time in the NI Hospice in Whiteabbey. The first of his 3 visits was October 2013, then again in Janurary 2014 and finally March 2014. The support, care, help and love that he and close family and friends were shown in this difficult time is one that we will always remember.
The NI hospice cares for over 3000 adults and their families each year. They provide practical and emotional support to improve the lives of all their patients. The fact that 1 in 3 people will be diagnosed with cancer has brought to light that everyone will experience the hospice whether individually or a family member or friend receives treatment. None of the support or care can take place without donations from all off you lovely people. The Northern Ireland Hospice can only continue to help and care for patients and family with our help.
My uncle Kennys fight was long and hard, but he battled to the end with his head held high. He was so brave and now I have decided to brave it out and try to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause.
I know in my heart that he will be with me the whole time as jumping out of a plane would be the last thing he would ever choose to do!!! So with his biggest fear of flying and my biggest fear of falling – its skydiving time J
Every pound or penny that you can spare will go such a long way to support the Northern Ireland hospice and their patients!
Thank you all for reading this, get your wallets and purses out guys and gals J
Lots of Love xxxxx
