Story
I decided earlier this year that I would set myself a challenge and try to complete the Glentress 7. This is a 7 hour mountain bike endurance race held at Glentress, one of the UK's best mountain biking trail centres. The course is laid out over an 11km lap and the challenge is to try and complete as many laps as you can in the 7 hours.
Anyone who has ridden at Glentress will tell you how challenging some of the terrain is and I think to be honest, now that I'm middle aged and built more for comfort than speed I underestimated how much of a challenge this will be.
So I decided that if I was going to be having fun for 7 hours, thinking positive here, I would see if I could raise some money for charity at the same time.
My father has been living with renal cancer for the past seven years and during this time he has found the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer to be a useful resource so I have chosen this charity to raise funds for.
I'll be taking part in the event on the 1st of June and any support you can give me will be much appreciated.
