As something to aim for in a "big birthday" year, I set myself a target to cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh in the Pedal for Scotland Classic Challenge. In doing so, I want raise money for a small number of charities and other good causes which I have a connection with.
Deaf Action is a charity based in Edinburgh which delivers a range of services to the estimated 950,000 people in Scotland with sensory support needs, including those who are blind, partially sighted, deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing. One of these people is my stepson, Matteo, who has thrived with the support of Deaf Action staff. It's through him that I became a Trustee of the charity and now I want to take this opportunity to raise funds for it. Every penny or pound donated will help it continue with its valuable work.
