Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
Last year I cycled from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This year's challenge is to complete, over a weekend before the end of August, the 100 mile section of the Hadrian' Cycleway from Bowness-on-Solway to Tynemouth.
Given the profile, this will prove somewhat of a challenge compared to my normal routes on the roads of flat Cambridgeshire!
Although it is a personal challenge (I will cover all the expenses), I'm very happy to raise funds for The Turbo Trust, a charity I have supported for many years.
The Turbo Trust provides independent mobility through the funding of individually designed powerchairs, many of which are designed and made by Dragonmobility Ltd, whose Finance Director I am.
Over the years I have seen the transformation in many people as a result of this mobility equipment (see http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-28044341 and http://www.2000Lives.org ] and I want to continue helping The Turbo Trust.
Donations will directly help people like Adam, Caitlyn, Sophie, and others, some of whom are featured on The Turbo Trust's main Just Giving page. The cost of each elevating powerchair, including a five year support package, is about £20,000. Whilst it would be great to raise this amount, and I'm not stopping anyone from helping me do so, my target is a bit more modest and ties in to the distance (100 miles) and the time I have been with Dragonmobility (10 years)!
