these two are the reason why I am doing what I'm doing. xx

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you very much for your donation. It really means a lot to me and to Cancer Research UK.

So here is the reason why I have decided to raise as much money as I can for a charity that so deserves all of our help.

Only some of my close friends and family will know that 2011 was a year that our family will not forget in a very long time; after what we thought was a routine hysterectomy in May my mum told us that she had been diagnosed with Womb Cancer. She went on to tell us that she had known for the last 3/4 months but had decided that she wouldn’t tell us (her children) the real reason behind having to have the operation as she didn’t want to worry or upset us. She has since been given the all clear and with only having to have just regular check-up’s but no other action was needed.

Less than 6 months later my aunt was diagnosed with Breast Cancer two weeks before Christmas, she too decided not to tell her children until she knew more because of the worry, since Christmas my aunt has been into hospital and has the lump removed and her children have now been told, my aunt is now having to have Chemotherapy, with the potential of having radiotherapy, as some of you will know part of the Chemotherapy there are obviously some side effects one being hair loss. Her hair had started to fall out so on the 5th April my aunt decided to not let "Cancer" dictate to her when she loses her hair so she decided to shave it off herself! Both my aunt and my mum even though there stories are extremely different the journey for both for of them has really only just began. A constant worry and label of "cancer sufferer/survivor" will always be over their heads.

Now this is why Cancer Research is so important to all of us, everyone in this world has either known someone who has cancer, had cancer or knows someone who has been affected by the disease. There is not just one "Cancer" and it can affect all ages, gender and it doesn’t care what the colour of your skin is.

In an ideal world my one wish would be that cancer didn’t exist but that just isn’t logical at this time so it would have to be this if we all help this charity and do what we can to help people like my mum, aunt and many other sufferers of cancer they would not have to go through this horrendous time in their lives alone because they are too afraid to use the "C" word encase it worries or upsets their loved ones. It should always be a word that is taken serious but if this charity had the proper funding for their research and cancer was a more controllable disease and not one that is always connected to death then maybe people would talk about it more, get checked out by their doctors and have the appropriate treatment sooner.

So with this all in mind and I know some of my cousins, uncle and one of my brothers have also shaved their heads in support but I have decided that I am going to raise as much money as I can by losing weight not only to lessen my chances of getting cancer (as people who are over there recommended body weight are more likely to get cancer) but also to show my support. I know everyone's money is tight but all I'm asking for is just a small donation so please dig deep and donate now. Thank you and Love you xxx
