Story
If you were ever blessed with meeting Joe, you would never forget him. He was a character, a joker and a dedicated Chelsea fan. He was always happy and lived his life to the full despite suffering from this debilitating disease.
In September 2009 I took part in this challenge to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis. Joe was in hospital at the time and I headed straight to the Brompton as soon as I had crossed that finish line. I had Joe's name on my back and was hoping he would be home soon. He did come home and was doing alright when suddenly his lung collapsed and he past away, just like that!
Sadly this year I will be taking part in memory of Joe.
That inner shudder and rapid heartbeat feeling I had when I found out Joe had gone will never leave me. I miss Joe so much my heart aches.
I found out today that a girl aged just 10 years had passed away this week due to CF and I came straight home and signed up to this challenge. WE NEED TO FIND A CURE, I can't imagine what that poor family are going through right now.
I am unable to put into words how this disease has changed my life and how much Joe is missed but I am happy to share what a fantastic young man he was and I am honoured that he was part of my life.
Please help me to raise funds to help find a cure.
They don't have a choice but we do.
Just £1 and I will be eternally grateful, you can donate on line, it's very easy but remember to tick the box for gift aid (they get more that way). THANK YOU xxxxxx
