Sams Walk is a charity walk in aid of the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) of Hinchingbrooke Hospital and The Rosie Hospital, a Children's Hospital which forms part of the Addenbrookes University Hospitals in Cambridge.

Sams Walk will be approximately 23 Miles and will start at Addenbrookes Hospital and Finish at The Exhibition Pub and Restaurant in Godmanchester. Further fundraising for walkers and supporters of the walk in the form of food for sale at the finish, sponsored by the Exhibition Pub and Restaurant . It will take approximately 8 hours to complete the walk.

All money raised will be divided between the two charities.

I am walking for 2 reasons: firstly because the story below inspired me. I have had the opportunity to know Sam a little and to meet a few other babies that have come too soon, but soldiered on. And the strength shown by them and their parents is truly inspiring. and secondly because I was at a crossroads in my life a few weeks ago and needed some serious inspiration! Thos of you that know me well, know I've always had "curves" but lately thos curves have become lumps and bumps and things have started to hurt. The last thing I want is to be faced with all kinds of medical problems because of obeisity. I don't want to be a candidate for hip replacement at 50. I want to be an inspiration to my kids, especially my daughter, so she doesn't have to go through what I did as a heavy child and heavier young adult. So, I signed up. And I'm going to do it.

So please sponsor me, for the babies or for the lumps and bumps that I am trying to lose. We will be eternally thankful.
