Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My partner, the lovely Lesley Mason, died suddenly on 19 February. I am trying to raise as much as I can for Guide Dogs in memory of her and her long-standing work with Visually Impared people. She loved the folks and loved their dogs and the freedom they give.
My daughter, Elizabeth, is taking part in the London 10k on 25 May and is asking her friends, family and colleagues to sponsor her efforts as part of the fund-raising for guide dogs. This will make a great difference to Guide Dogs and to the visually impaired people who depend on them. Guide Dogs get no money from the taxpayer and pay all costs for a dog throughout its working life. This, as you dog-owners will know, is a considerable financial commitment. So please give as generously as you are able. In return, Liz will do her best to win the race.
Lesley gave a Saturday a month for many years to help the visually impared by guiding them on walks around The Peak District and Derbyshire generally. Lesley died suddenly and unexpectedly on 19 February and one of the last things she had done was to walk with the visually impared only 3 days before. She cared deeply about helping people to live better lives with more freedom. There are not enough guide dogs for the people who need them. So what better way to commemorate the life of such a wonderful and much-loved lady than to help a cause she held so dear to her heart? Please give generously and give often.
