Story
My Grandma/Mum Noelle was always the biggest chatterbox and life and sole of any gathering. She loved to sing and dance and was alway the first up for any challenge, even taking part in sumo wrestling at the age 80, at her granddaughters 21st. She was the most kind and generous person that was a big part of the local community. Dementia is a cruel disease that strips away at each part of them, so that each part that makes them who they are and a fully functioning member of society disappears. In our case this was all sped up over lockdown and we lost most of who she was within a number of weeks. Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, they will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
