Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Grandad was my rock, my hero. He gave me the confidence to be myself, encouragement to achieve more than I thought I could and passion for history, books and coins! Behind every good man is a great woman and my Nan is the greatest most caring and loving woman you could hope to meet. Together they were magnificent.

When Grandad started to lose his memory it was confusing for all of us. The doctors prescribed medication which didn't seem to help at all. When he started to lose mobility we were all worried, how could we help Nan? She was carrying him almost up stairs to bed, it was physically challenging, but she did everything for him nevertheless. There were no answers, no cures, he progressively worsened until he lost speech too. How did my rock become a shell?

I am not a scientist or a doctor but I can do something to help in the fight against Dementia.  I can be a fundraiser because my Grandad taught me to challenge myself.
