Story
The Abortion Support Network provide financial support and sometimes accommodation to Irish women who need to travel for an abortion. The current Irish system means that disadvantaged women are disproportionately affected by our laws. Its not easy for anyone to raise the €800-€2,000 needed to exercise the so-called right to travel. Some people face other significant barriers such as lack of visa or ill health. The Abortion Support Network will exist until the Irish government provide free, safe and legal access to abortion in Ireland. Women who have give fatal foetal diagnosis, women who have been raped, women who are in abusive relationships and women who cannot or will not remain pregnant against their will are abandoned by our government but the Abortion Support Network is there for them, to help with the arrangements and provide support. This is a very worthy cause. please visit their website to hear some of the harrowing stories of women who have needed their help.
