SimplyHealth Great North Run 2018 · 9 September 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Im doing the Great North Run this year for the National Autistic Society because my gorgeous nephew was diagnosed with Autism last year, it wasn't until this happened that i realised how little i actually knew about Autism and i now realise how important it is to raise awareness.
Its so complex and so different in each and every person its quite difficult to know how to deal with it as a family and more importantly how to be the best WE can be for Joshua. That's where the National Autistic Society come in - the work they do is fantastic and the awareness and knowledge they share is brilliant. They provide information, support and pioneering services, and campaign for a better world for Autistic people.
So i started "running" April last year by doing the couch to 5k which i completed in September. i went from never running at all & i can now run 3 miles. The great north run is just over 13 miles so it is going to be tough & training has already began! My aim is to finish the run & raise some money for a brilliant charity, i don't have a specific finishing time....still being able to move my legs at the end of it will be brilliant haha!
