Thanks for taking the time to visit Nunhead Community Choir’s JustGiving page. On Thursday 21st July, starting on Nunhead Green we are having an impromptu celebration of the end of another year of singing together, and are so pleased to be raising money for Westminster House Youth Club summer programme 2022. Here’s a bit about them:
'Westminster House Youth Club is one of the oldest youth clubs in the world. Established in 1888 in 7 dials in Soho, the club moved to its current home in Nunhead in 1949. Across many projects at the club we work with local children and young people aged 8-19. We provide after schools support, one to one tuition and accreditation, including the Duke of Edinburgh award and work based qualifications.
We play many sports but our most popular is dodgeball. We have wheelchair sports sessions once a week and also play football, basketball, cricket etc and this year have already competed in Cross Country and Shooting!
We are just approaching our busiest time of year - the summer holidays. We aim to keep children and young people purposefully occupied with day time and evening provision which will include swimming, cooking, ice skating, cinema trips bowling and also certificated courses including investment and money management . We will provide a healthy meal every day and will continue to run our weekly food bank for our families during the summer. Any contribution towards our Summer work would be greatly appreciated.’
