FULFILLING A PROMISE!
On Dec 6th my friend Morven may have lost her battle with cancer at just 43 years young, but was a winner at life. She lived life to the fullest and we should all #BEMOREMORV.
Her dress code for her memorial service was “Make an effort” She was the life and soul of every party and she attended EVERY party! Her dress up mantra was “big hair and boobs out”
During her illness and treatment she became nervous at the idea of losing her hair, so I promised that when that day arrived I’d shave my hair off and join her. She was overwhelmed and asked me to donate my hair to the Princess Trust who make real hair wigs for children battling cancer. This charity was close to Morven’s heart as she worked with these little heroes in her job as a paediatric dietician.
Sadly, she didn’t make it to that stage in treatment. However, a promise is a promise!
Morven asked that on her passing instead of flowers that donations were made to, The Beatson and The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice who looked after her in her final days. They enabled her to spend quality time with the love of her life, her handsome boy Ruaridh or RJ for short.
RJ is 6 and a half and will continue to be cared for by the hospice charity who provide children with bereavement support by The Butterfly Group.
This will be invaluable in helping him come to terms with such a big loss at such a young age and they will continue to support him for as long as he wants and needs. And because of this I am setting out to raise as much money as I can for them.
So, here comes the dig deep part. This charity would not exist without donations. It is vital that this amazing work continues so Mummies like Morven and Daddies too can be supported and guided through those precious days with their children and leave them safe in the knowledge that everything will be done to help them when they are no longer here.
My hair is currently 25in/65cm in length and it is all coming off, every last bit!
Whatever you can donate, every penny counts! A penny or pound a cm or inch. The cost of a pint, a takeaway, a bar of chocolate?
I will hugely appreciate every penny and so will RJ!
Morven should be celebrating her birthday on 8th March so I have chosen that day to honour her, her bravery and her brave boy!
Support me and…
#BEMOREMORV! ❤️
